FLV Player 3.0

Some programs are designed to download FLV video files, some to convert them. Here's a small application that just views them: FLV Player.

The program will use very little of your disk space. In fact, the 6 Mb kit is larger than the unpacked software. Installing it will take one or two seconds and you won't be prompted to install any additional codecs or anything.

When I say "small application", this is in a literally sense. When you run it for the first time, you'll notice that the interface is really small. You can, however, set it to three different sizes or go for the full screen mode.

Its functionality is even simpler. Add a FLV file and play it. Come to think of it, you only need to add the file. It will play automatically. Do this either via hot key, by clicking the open button, clicking and dragging the file itself into the interface or you can watch something online. Just copy and paste an URL and you're all set. There's not even a text field to paste the URL in. All you have to do is click the small interface, hit CTRL+V and it will load automatically.

Clicking on the small info button underneath the progress bar will show you certain details about the media you're playing. You can also find a few settings, like checking for updates automatically, remember the last used position on screen and other interface related options. That's all there is to say about FLV Player. It's a small, straight to the point program.

Pros:
It's a really slim player which does its job like as it was meant to.

Cons:
You can only run FLV files. Any other formats won't load.

If you have just downloaded a FLV video file, you can use FLV Player to view it right away without having to deal with anything else except viewing the video.
